Palladino 2003 Moscato d'Asti

A recipe for summer: Slice a drippingly ripe peach into a bowl. Pour chilled Moscato d’Asti over. Eat, slurp, and repeat until you’ve had your fill—or until commonsense tells you you’ve had enough. The combination of the ethereally light, sweet, bubbly wine and the fragrant, juicy fruit is so refreshing and simple it may be hard to stop. Palladino made a particularly beguiling example in 2003, brimming with peach and nectarine flavor yet as light as air. It’s brought to the US by Blair Taylor of Enotec Imports, who likes to serve it at his restaurant, Barolo Grill, with a cool, creamy lemon semifreddo with a bright raspberry sauce.
